¿Cómo Frijoles?
Hola famia y amigos
This week has actually
been really good!
First off my companion
is really nice her name is Hermana Hogan and she is very nice! She's from
draper and is also going to New York, New York north mission Spanish
speaking.
We have 4 sisters in
my district and we are all in the same apartment. We are very lucky and only
have the 4 of us in the apartment but most sisters have all 6 beds filled.
There is me, Hermana Hogan (the tall blonde in the picture), hermana Roberts
(the short blonde in the picture), and hermana Meyer who is the other brunette.
We all get along really great and all 4 of us go every where togther!
My district has 11
people total. We have my apartment of sisters, 2 elder companionships and 1
elder trio. Our district is actually really fun! We do almost do everything
together. We eat together we, work out together and we even do our out of class
language study together. (All 11 of us are kind shown in the picture below)
Highlights:
Wednesday I got my
name tag! That was really awesome!
Thursday I said my
first, vocal Spanish prayer! It was really short and simple but it was really
good for me! I know my Spanish was far from perfect but I know heavenly father
understand!
Friday in out morning
class we learned how to give our testimonies. And then for the Friday night
class we taught our first lesson IN SPANISH! It was really scary and our TRC
investigator was really hard. He asked a lot of questions that I could
understand but didn't know how to respond to in Spanish! But the spirit was
with me and hermana Hogan brought the spirt and we were able to bear our
testimonies!
Today is P-day and so
my apartment is doing laundry and emailing home but later today my whole zone
is going to the temple! Estoy emocionado!
Even though I have
only been here for 4ish days it feels like a week or more but in a good way. I
already feel like have been friends with my district for years instead of only
72 hours.
I forgot to say
that elder Benion Brown and elder Daniel Moote are both in my zone! So it has
been fun to see some familar faces around! Speaking of familiar faces I have
seen Sister Lind a few times as well as Sister Watkins!
Also thanks for the
care package and all the yummy food! It is so fun to get mail in the MTC!
Funny moments: on the
second morning one of the elders was walking to our 8:00 class and
said buenos noches instead of buenos Dias. So now every morning our district
greets each other with a very loud and enthusiastic ¡ buenos noches !
Also hermana Roberts
was saying the prayer in Spanish and the end of language study where we had
just learned the word for gospel we El Evangelio and at the end instead if
closing in the name of Christ she said "en el nombre del Evangelio
amen" which means in the name of the gospel amen. It was really funny and
we all laughed and now that too is a continuing joke. Our entire district is
really good humored and we all with each other when we mess up.
Anyway I have to run
but know that I love you all and I'm excited to hear from you again!
Con amor,
Hermana Dobson
