Sept 6th, 2017 I've been in NYC for 1 Transfer!

Hermana Morales and I ate at the "yellow bodega" it's famous among the missionaries for having great sandwiches.
Sept 6th, 2017

Hello all of my lovely friends and family!  How are you all doing? School has started again so hopefully your lives are all going back to normal.

This week was really good! We had transfers this week! I can't believe I have been in New York for 6 weeks! I am still with Hermana Morales but we only have one area and ward now instead of two. They brought in a new set of sisters, Hermanas Stark who has been out about a year and Hermana Clark who just got here from the CCM yesterday (Mexico MTC). They are now our roommates so that's fun! They are going to be working in the Concourse ward and Hermana Morales and I are staying in Kingsbridge. We are a little sad to not be in both areas but it will be good because with only the two of us our time and resources were spread pretty thin and neither area got the focus it needed.

The best part of the week is we were able to give to Chapel tours! I know that doesn't sound that exciting but what a chapel tour is, is we take the investigator into each room in the church and explain what it is, explain the sacrament and how sacrament meeting goes, talk about Sunday school and relief society, and primary for their kids. We usually sing a hymn or two.  And we also show them the baptismal font and explain the covenant we make there. They are actually really awesome the spirit is always being fuerte!👌 One of our chapel tours even ended with us setting a potential baptismal date as a goal to work towards.

Another great part of the week was, we were able to teach this woman named Patria. She works at the grocery store we shop at on p-days and we see her every week and talk to her. We have been trying to get an appointment with her since we got here and finally this week we had one! It was such a great lesson. Patria has so much faith and potential! She loves God so much and even though her life is so hard she keeps her trust in him!

Those were the highlights of this week! I'm really excited to start my second transfer here in the Bronx. I also love hearing from you all. The best part of my nights are when I sit down before bed and read your emails. I love hearing about all the crazy things happening in your lives! I love you all and have a great week!

Love, Hermana Dobson
