Oct 25th, 2017 The Value of Members

Me and sister Bandeaux on our split.

Hello my wonderful readers! I hope all is well in your lives! There is not a lot of things to tell you about this week so this will be short but sweet.

One of our companionship cycle goals was to have more members present when we’re teaching. Normally we have one or 2 a week. But as were really focusing and trying we were able to have 6 member presents this week. As a cause of that our lessons went so good. Most we had a few where they just Skyped in on face book and shared some really powerful testimonies. Also, when the members invited the investigators to do things, instead of giving the excuses that they give us they accepted the commitments the members gave them. It was so awesome.

A miracle this week: On Wednesday we had a great lesson with Miriam. We invited her to be baptized (again).  But then she told us that she wants to come to this church for the rest of her life (yay so awesome!) but that she wasn't sure if she wanted to be baptized (not so awesome). Obviously we were disappointed but decided we were going to help her grow her testimony until she did have the desire to be baptized. But then on Sunday the elders had a Baptism and Miriam came. Afterwards as we were eating refreshments, some of Miriam's member fellowshippers made the joke that she was next. She told them her thoughts and they quickly rallied and helped her realize her desire to be baptized. By the end of the night she was talking about how far away her baptism would be and who she wanted to invite to her baptism. I love the power of members and how they helped her overcome the barriers and doubts about baptism in ways that missionaries just can't! In our next lesson with her we are going to try set a hard date with her!

We also had our first split of this cycle. I was with Sister Bandeaux again. When ever I go into the English program on splits I am very thankful that I was called Spanish speaking. They have very few people to teach. It would be really hard for me to be English all the time.

Anyway that's all for this week! I love you all! And wish you a happy Halloween!

Love, Hermana Dobson

Cute letters we got from the grand kids of a a member we visited.
