Me, Sister Blad and One of Our Investigators
December 12, 2017 Watching A Couple Grow in the Gospel

This week we had a lot of meetings to go to which meant that we didn't get to spend the amount of time that we would have liked out teaching people which was a real bummer but it was still a pretty good week.

This whole email is going to basically be about Reina and Jose because they the two main investigators we have and anything interesting that happened this week has to do with them.

The first and really funny story is we went to visit them for an appointment we had set up. We had been going all day and hadn’t had time to rest anywhere so we get there and Sister Blad tells me she has to go to the bathroom really bad.  So we walk in and knock on the door and no answer. Which is weird because they have never not been home when we have appointments. We're knocking and knocking and no answer. All this time sister Blad is freaking out because she has to go to the bathroom. The door was cracked open a bit so I opened it and called out if any one was home. Nothing. So sister Blad pushes past me calling out. I'm not going to make it. So she runs in to the house and uses the bathroom. All the while I'm busting up on the stairs. #youknowyoureamissionarywhen the only reason you break the law is to use the bathroom.

On a more spiritual note this week  really awesome because on Tuesday we had a lesson about fasting with Reina and Jose and we invited them to fast with us on Sunday to receive an answer whether the church is true or not. Then Saturday was the ward Christmas party and at the end we started our fast together and then we broke it together after church. It was so awesome to see them put their faith in practice. It was even the first time that we had Jose come to church and he loved it.

He ended up going to primary with his son because his son wouldn't let him leave. But it was perfect. He was so impressed with the primary and how we teach kids about god from such a young age. It was real turning point for him and it was awesome to how his vision shifted. The spirit spoke to him and told him if this is what we were doing to help our children it must be good and true. Jose now gets it and is ready and willing to progress at the same level that Reina is!

I love you! Have an amazing week preparing for Christmas!

Love, Hermana Dobson
