Nov 1, 2017: Hoping For A White Christmas

Good morning! I hope all is well and that you don't have a Halloween sugar hangover!

This week has been busy but good! Friday we had a Split. I split with Sister Stark she's awesome! She was trained in the Kingsbridge area over a year ago and is now in the other Spanish ward but on our split we got to go see some of the people that she taught and baptized a year ago! So that was really fun and special.

On Sunday we had an activity that was supposed to be for investigators but it was pouring rain (no one goes out in the rain. Our sacrament meetings are tiny when it's raining. Not even the normally active members come). So not a single investigator showed up. But about 30 members did. So it actually turned out great. The members needed it and it was really spiritually uplifting for those that did come!

Something that President Smith has asked us to focus on is making it a white Christmas. With that in mind, last Wednesday night Hermana Morales and I set a baptismal date with Miriam for the 17th of December. We are really excited. (Hopefully there will also be a wedding so it can be a really white Christmas). Her testimony had grown so much the last few months. She really wants to be a part of this church for the rest of her life!

A miracle this week: we have a 13 year old that we are teaching named Yismerlin. Last week during weekly planning we were trying to figure out who could be a member present for her. Ideally it would need to be some one that lived close so that they could take her to church. We were looking at the map and saw that she lives in the building right next door to one of our strongest families in the ward. That family also just so happens to have a 12 year old daughter, Danna, almost the same age as Yismerlin. We were able to introduce her to the family! After that we were able to talk to her dad and he said that she could come to church with the family! Heavenly father always provides away for his children!
