First off, we set a
wedding date with Miriam for the 9th of December so just over a week before her
baptism. We still have to get her husband all the way on board because he's a
little apprehensive but I know that the lord will provide a way because Miriam’s
faith is so strong and she wants this so bad.
Sunday was an amazing
but also really hard day for me. I woke up Sunday morning with absolutely no
voice. Any attempts at speech sounded like a mix between cave men grunts and a
dying animal. Considering how much we talk a day it was hard for me not to
teach and especially not to testify, and it was hard for Hermana Morales to
have to teach all by herself. But even with me not being able to talk we had a
really great day. One of our investigators, Josefina, has been progressing
really well but she couldn't come to church because of her work schedule. We
have church at 9:30 -12:30 and she gets off work at 12:00. One
of the English sisters gave us the idea to bring her to sacrament in English
and translate for her. We did and by the end of relief society she was beaming.
We pulled her aside and talked for a few minutes. In which she told us she was
talking to her boss and changing her Sunday work schedule so that she can come
to church in Spanish and we also gave her a baptismal date for the 17th of
December!
Then later that night
we were headed to watch the YSA face to face and we saw one of our
investigators, Soliris, on the way there. She has been very frustrated lately
because she feels like she can't get answers to any of her questions. She came
and 9:00 we turned it off so we could get home on time and she was so
sad. Because she had gotten answers to some of her questions and thought she
still has many questions she is more ready to continue her progression towards
the gospel.
Now, not spiritual but
definitely exciting news! Our mission got smart phones and because Hermana
Morales is an STL we got one of the very first ones! It's so so awesome. We
have already used it several times to Skype in members to lessons with
investigators! I'm am so thankful that the lord trusts us with more technology
to help further his work!
Anyway, I love you all
and hope you have a wonderful thanks giving!
Love, Hermana
Dobson
