Hola
Buena familia y amigos Feliz Navidad y Año Nuevo!
I got to talk to many
of you on Christmas and that was so awesome!
For Christmas eve and
Christmas day we spent most of the day trying to visit the single women in our
ward that don't have family to be with on Christmas. We were able to read Luke
2 or show them the nativity video to help them feel the Christmas spirit. They
were all so thankful to have someone to be with for Christmas. Even if it was
only an hour.
Christmas Eve we had
dinner with an extended family in our ward. There were over 20 people stuffed
into a small little 4 room apartment but it was still so much fun. We had
tamales and other Latino food and you could just feel the family
closeness.
Christmas day we ate
dinner with an English family in our ward. It was kinda a little bit of culture
shock. We had steak and cheese cake and there wasn't anyone telling a weird
story in crazy fast Spanish that I only catch part of.
We even had a small
Christmas miracle. We were leaving our dinner appointment and we were stuck
behind a slow driver. I was looking out the window and felt impressed that we
needed to stop at the gas station we were passing. I was just about to open my
mouth to tell Hermana Blad to turn in when she suddenly turned in to the gas
station. We were able to talk to this guy who was just walking out. We just had
really awesome conversation and was super interested to hear about the book of
Mormon. He had been prepared to receive our message and I'm so grateful that we
were spiritually in tune enough to stop and talk to him.
I love you all lots
and hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you have a happy New
Year!
Love, Hermana
Dobson
