Hello
my wonderful and supportive family and friends. This week has been a very
historic one. On Friday we had the new missionary meeting which Sister
Chacón and I went to.
And because it ran long we ended up watching the funeral
of President Monson together with all the new missionaries and their trainers,
all the missionaries serving in the White Plains area, as well as president and
sister Smith. It was so tender hearing the words of some of the people who
loved him the very most. I especially loved at the very end when we all stood
and watched as he left the conference room for the last time. I have had the
opportunity to stand in the conference center and watch him enter and exit many
times and I am so grateful I got to do it one last time.
Yesterday was zone
conference and we were able to stop in the middle of zone conference and watch
the broadcast of President Nelson. This past September when he came and spoke
to the mission I received a witness that he is a Prophet of God. Then yesterday
as we were watching his broadcast I was able to receive a confirmation that he
truly is called of God and he is who the lord needs as a Prophet at this time.
A miracle this
week: yesterday at zone conference President Smith gave us a challenge to move
one of our key indicators that day. We left and had decided that we were going
to give one of our investigators a baptismal date. We were so excited and then
about an hour before the appointment she canceled. We were kind of bummed but
decided to find another way to move our key indicators. We decided to look up a
potential investigator that was found months ago from tracting but we had only
gone back twice and she was never home. We went back and knocked and she wasn't
interested. So we knocked next door. Which was the home of a former
investigator. The former wasn't home but her 2 daughters were and we had an
awesome lesson from the introduction of the Book of Mormon. They both want us
to come back next week.
This week was such an
amazing week. I found myself teaching and testifying more than ever of a living
prophet. I am so thankful to our loving Heavenly Parents for giving us a
Prophet to help and guide us today.
