Hermana Castillo and I. Now you all can picture her cute face! This week has been awesome! I have loved reading my notes from conference and trying to put in practice what the spirit taught me. One thing that the spirit brought to my remembrance is something I heard at an EFY 3 or 4 years ago. That, revelation not recorded is revelation lost. I've been trying to better record when I receive a little bit of revelation and it is helping me to make better sure that I am doing exactly what the Lord wants me to be doing.
I am loving being with Hermana Castillo! A few times we have had a few problems communicating effectively but we eventually got through it and both my Spanish and her English have improved this week. We try to speak in only English out side of the house but normally we switch to Spanish frequently throughout the day so that we can actually communicate.
She has technically finished her training but she did half of it in México because she was visa waiting and then she did the other half in Harlem.
President Smith wanted her to serve in an English ward so that her English can improve. That something He is really big on. Is helping none native English speakers really learn English, he understands how much help it can be to them for the rest of their lives, so even if that's not their call language they still serve English speaking for a while. I think this ward will be a good in between ward for her. It's not totally English so she can still communicate with some of the members but she will definitely be forced to work on her English.
She is a really awesome missionary and has such a strong testimony!
Miracle this week: Betsy, is 14 years old and just had a baby about a month ago. The elders found her and passed her to us. We went to see her and we were wondering how to begin teaching and felt to share the point that says " We all make mistakes in life, and these mistakes create feelings of guilt and shame. These feelings cannot be relieved without repentance and forgiveness. They can be fully healed through the Atonement of Christ."
She just bore out her whole soul. She talked about how 2 years ago her family stopped going to church and it was after that happened that her life took a turn for the worse. She told us that she feels guilty for everything that's happened. The pain she's caused her mom and the pain she's caused to her Heavenly Father. She kept saying how she just wants to be right in the sight of God again an she wants her baby to grow up knowing the name of Christ. We were able to testify of the atonement and how through repentance and baptism we can be totally clean. At that point we invited her to be baptized and she picked her own days out of when she felt she could be ready to be baptized. I love the atonement and how it turns despair into hope. Repentance is so cool!
I love you all!
I love you all!
Love,

| A picture from last week I forgot to send out! The member, Consuelo, made us all matching necklaces so we wore them on Easter Sunday to watch conference together. |
