April 18, 2018 Flood of Heavenly blessings, or really just a flood

Alexa got baptized! She's 8 but we've been working with her whole family who are converts so we taught her all the lessons before she got baptized. She honestly one of the strongest testimonies I've ever heard and she's only 8

Hola Familia

This week has been awesome! Despite still having a little bit of a language barrier, Hermana Castillo and I are finding our groove and are able to communicate and teach with unity. I love her enthusiasm for the work and her desire to always improve not only in her English but in all aspects of the work !

Also as the subject line suggests we have seen so many miracles this week! I'll only share a few. First, on Friday we had sisters Jean B. Bingham, Bonnie H. Cordón and Cristina B Franco come to New York to do a training on the new way of ministering. We couldn't watch it in person but we did watch a broadcast with our whole stake and guess who got asked to translate? Yep yours truly. It was terrifying. There is a big difference translating in relief society for only the Hermanas who you know and love and accept you even with your Spanish mistakes and translating for a whole stake of women who you've never met. It went okay. But I think I'll stick to my relief society translations for now.

We also had zone conference yesterday which was awesome as usual. I'm not going to go into very much detail since I'm short on time today. But it definitely helped me feel more spiritually full.

Miracle this week: This past week we have really been struggling to get out of our dinner appointments on time and as a result we haven't been able to find many new investigators. So on Monday we made it our goal to get out of our dinner appointment in 55 minutes. We didn't quite make it but we did get out in 62 minutes which was a big improvement to the last week of dinners. And as a result we finally had time to look up Ines, a former investigator, which we'd had in our schedule to look up for over a week but for some reason we were never able to actually look her up. But we both had felt prompted several times that we needed to look her up. But every time we were in her area something happened that took up all the time we had in that area. But finally we had time to look her up.
And unfortunately the Inez doesn't live there anymore and now there is a new family that lives there. We knocked on their door and they told us that Inez didn't live there anymore and started to shut the door. We then told them very quickly that we had brought a very special message about Jesus Christ to share with Inez and then asked them if we could share it with them instead. They hesitantly agreed. We came in and by the end of our 10 minute lesson they asked us to come back so that they could continue to strengthen their relationship with Christ. I know the lord always blesses us but we also have to do our own effort to be obedient and show him that we are worthy to be trusted with the care of his precious children.

I hope you have a wonderful week! I love you all!
Cute name tag picture (I wouldn't be a sister missionary with out at least a few)

It was almost 70 degrees so we took a spring time selfie to celebrate

Finally sending a picture of our car. I keep forgetting and a few of you have asked.

another selfie

On Monday it poured rain and the river outside our apartment building flooded. The little gray things in the water are park benches.

I finally found a Dominican upstate! She's a member and just moved here! She's awesome. That's us and Cristina after eating a very Dominican dinner
While Mom and Carlie were at Utah State taking a campus
tour they had lunch with another guy and his mom who were on the tour.  As they were making small talk, it turns out they are from my ward here in Darien, Connecticut.  SMALL WORLD!!!
Love
