| Me andSister Castillo on transfer day |
So yesterday the New York City North and New York City South missions combined and President Teuscher will be the President of the new combined New York City Mission. I'm so glad I stayed in this mission!
This week has been
crazy but so so good! Yonkers is super fun. It feels a lot like the Bronx
except we have a car so that's great. But there are so many Dominicans
everywhere and there's halal food and coco helados on Every corner so it
definitely is a lot like the Bronx. I love it. Also Sister Wilson is super
awesome she's so cute! She's from Henderson, Nevada. She's been in Yonkers for
1 transfer so we are both really new hear but we are excited to be here
This week we also got
to meet President Sister Teuscher and their family and President and Sister
Smith went home. I'm sad to see them go, they have bade such a huge impact on
my life. But when we were at the meeting where we met president Teuscher I got
a powerful confirmation they truly called of God. I'm super excited to work
with them.
A miracle this week:
yesterday we had a woman just show up to church. She said that she had met
someone the day before before at the laundry mat and she had invited her to
church and she decided to come. Then the person that invited her called her in
the morning to wake her up and remind her. But the craziest part is that the
woman that invited her wasn't at church. We have no idea who it was, (maybe an
angel
) She stayed all
three hours and loved it. She is so excited to learn more and we are so excited
to help her come unto Christ.
I love you all and hope
you have an amazing week!
Love, Hermana
Dobson

Questions from Mom:
I’m
guessing its exciting to be back in the city. So why do you have a
car? Is your area big? Can you not use public
transportation?
It's not quite the city. Yonkers is just above the Bronx so
it's not technically city and we have a car because it's a huge area. It goes
all the way from Yonkers to Sleep hollow and over to white Plaines. We drive on
average 50 miles a day so that wouldn't be possible to do missionary work without a car since public transport is limited since it's not in the city.
Is your
area safe? Sketchy?
Well, it's like the bronx. It's a little
bit sketchy but they have sisters there so it's not that sketchy.
I know
how you love the Dominicans so that has to be fun for you to be immersed in
those people, culture and of course the food.
I do love them and being in
Darien for so long I forgot how intense they are, but I'm excited to work with
them again.
So
you’re assigned to a Spanish ward? What’s its name?
Yes it's
Spanish, it's called the Yonkers ward.
Is it a
large or small ward?
It's pretty small almost a
branch but just big enough to be considered a ward, there are 85 people there
on average.
How is
your teaching pool?
Awesome. We have a really cute girl named Noemi on bap date
for the end of July and we have a few more investigators that are starting to
progress.
So tell
me more about Sister Wilson.
She’s from Henderson Nevada.
What’s
her personality like?
Well, Sister Blad trained her and they literally are like
the same person it's so crazy.
Is it
strange to have an English speaking companion?
Yeah it kinda is. Not in a bad
way but just weird.
I’m so
glad you had that witness about your Pres. And Sister
Teucher. What are their personalities like?
They are seriously super laid back but in good way. You could just feel the
love coming from them. I'm sure they are going to be amazing leaders.
