July 9th, 2018 A Belated HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

Happy 4th of July

Hola familia ️️
I hope you all had an amazing 4th of July. Ours was rather uneventful we didmt see any fire works but we heard a lot of them... Well hopefully they were fireworks and not gun shots  just kidding!

The rest of this week was really good! I'm really learning to love Yonkers! It's a great area and I'm excited to be here. We had a super great week!

First off we had Zone Conference. It was President Teuscher's first zone Conference. You could tell he felt a little overwhelmed but he did such an amazing job. Every time he was not up speaking he was sitting studying all our names and faces and he was starting to call us by name towards the end. He is going to be such an amazing mission president.

We also had our Ward BBQ on Saturday. We had 4 people we are teaching there and were able to introduce them to a ton of members and help them start building relationships with them so that was super awesome. Also there was super great Hispanic food so that helped a lot too 😋👌

Miracle this week: we have a super awesome girl we are teaching named Noemi. She is working towards a baptismal goal of July 28th and right now she is trying very hard to get her answer and confirmation that this is what she should do. This past week we taught her about fasting and told her that we would be fasting for her on Sunday. We invited her to fast with us but she was really hesitant and said she wouldn't since we hadn't given her enough time to prepare. We told her that was fine but that we would still fast for her. Then the next day at church her cousin, who is a member, pulled us aside to tell us that she was fasting. She decided that night that she WANTED her answer and if fasting was going to help her get it, she would do it. We are so excited for her and know that her answer will come because she is putting in the work. I love being a missionary and seeing all the changes that are brought about because of the gospel.

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Love, Hermana Dobson

On the 4th we got hamburgers because there is nothing more American than that!

We found a pupusa place near the church. I was in heaven

We took a member, Sasha out with us. The little girl loved having 3 "big sisters" to play dress up with

Jazmín just got her mission call to Rome italy and goes into the MTC the day I go home
