June 25, 2018 Cambios! I'm Being Transferred to Yonkers

Rachelle and JC and me

"My beloved [family], I write unto you again that ye may know that I am yet alive; but I write somewhat of that which is grievous." (moroni 9:1)

I have some exciting but sad news. I'm being transferred. I have absolutely loved being here in Darien Connecticut for 7 months. I have grown so much here and have truly come to love the people here. I was so blessed to have the companions and experiences that I've had here.

But the lord has called me to move on. And after 7 months of Connecticut I am moving back to New York! I have been called to serve in Yonkers!  I'm a little nervous but also super excited. Yonkers is also right next to Scarsdale and they even share a chapel so I will get to work very closely with President and Sister Teucsher which is super cool!

Sorry, I don't have a ton of time to write. I have to have everything packed up tonight since transfers are early tomorrow morning.

But just a spiritual thought. We got a referral from the elders for this lady. We went and the lesson was going really well and she had some really awesome questions and then we taught the first vision about how Joseph Smith was called to be the prophet to restore the church. Then she just tore into us saying it was impossible for people to see and talk to God directly and that Joseph isn't mentioned in the Bible therefore he can't be a prophet and that Jesus Christ talks to us only though the Holy Ghost and doesn't use prophets any more etc. We quickly brought the lesson to a close and just bore simple testimonies of the truth of our message. And the spirit came back for just a second and testified to my heart and I think to hers as well that Joseph Smith truly is a Prophet of God. Though she's not the first person I've met to have done this, for some reason the experience was just so powerful this time. And even though her heart is not ready. It only made my testimony stronger, that I know Joseph saw God the father and His Son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to him and for all he did to restore Christ's church here again.

I love you all, have a wonderful week!
