May 16th, 2018: 7 Months in Connecticut!!!

Our last picture in our old apartment.

Buenos Días family I hope you all are doing well! It was so fun to talk to you on Sunday (Mother’s Day) and to hear your testimonies. It was so fun to see how you all have spiritually grown in the last year! I talked about a lot of things in the call that I would have written today so I won't repeat myself here

A couple things I didn't share, this week was crazy! We had to move apartments so every spare moment we had went to packing and cleaning. We had almost no time to find new people. We went out to set appointments (and we had a TON this week) and that was basically it. On Saturday we actually moved. The office elders, a senior couple and our elders came to help so that was nice. Between the 10 of us the work went pretty quick. But now our new apartment looks like a bomb went off. There are boxes and all sorts of things all over the house. We are unpacking a little bit everyday so eventually it will be an organized house again. Our new apartment isn't quite as nice as our old one but it's a town house with 2 floors and a back patio so that's nice!

Also on Saturday, transfer calls came and.... Sister Castillo is staying and........... I'm staying with her!! I was super! It's not super common that someone, especially a sister, stays in an area for 5 transfers but I'm super stoked! I guess I haven't finished whatever work the Lord would have me to do in Darien but I'm excited to find out what it is and to see the miracles the lord has prepared for us.

A miracle this week! Is José and Reina. I know I haven't talked about them in a while because since they can't get married yet they are progressing really slow. But they are progressing nonetheless and this week I our lesson with them we had a few moments that were so precious. And honestly for them I think that it's good that they couldn't get baptized right away because now when they do get baptized, they will be truly converted to the gospel. This past week they didn’t come to Church, which is weird, they always come, so we texted them Sunday night to see what happened and we never got a response. So Tuesday night we just decided to drop by. We did and they weren't home so we wrote a note and left and we were walking out they came home so we waited and then al went into the house. We told them we had missed them at church, turns out they had all been sick. So nothing really happened. Then we shared a scripture about love and how much we love them and Jose starts to agree with how love centered our church is and he shared with us how he has seen himself change. He talked about how 7 months ago he was really impatient and short tempered. But how now he is much more patient and loving at home and at work. Reina also agreed and asked for our help to send the missionaries to her sister in El Salvador because she has been telling her sister about her experiences and her sister wants to go to church too! I love those too so much and it has been so amazing seeing them progress these last few months and how they are really living and loving the gospel!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

We went to an English members house for dinner. This was her back yard. I'm basically in love!

When the elders were helping us move, they had a little mishap with the box of pamphlets. Their car was a bit of a mess.

Yummy Mexican food 😋 that a member gave us

Us at a members house with their dog.

Our first night in our new apartment

Our last zone Sports of the transfer, 2 elders were going home so we took a picture. We look like a softball team but that's fine 😂
