Aug 6, 2018 A Week of Finding 🔎

Hola Familia,

This week has been really great! We got transfer calls on Saturday and me and Hermana Wilson are staying together! I am so excited to have another transfer in Yonkers with Hermana Wilson. I have already learned a lot from her and I am excited to keep learning and working alongside her.

This week as a zone we have done set finding times. Where the entire zone sets aside 2-3 hours and we are all out finding at the same time and the district leaders also sent out a challenge just to help us focus our finding. Then we share our miracles on our messenger chat to keep each other accountable. And we had some really cool experiences.

One of the nights our challenge was to hand out 15 pamphlets and have a good gospel conversation with every person that we handed a pamphlet to. The first person we stopped on the street was a less active member that we don't even have records for. He is not interested in coming back but we were able to testify that he is a son of God and heavenly father wants him back as soon as he decides to come back.

After we were in a park contacting a approached this group of women. At first they were very closed off to us. They thought we were Jehovah Witnesses and wanted nothing to do with us. But after a few minutes they learned we are not Jehovahs but LDS missionaries and they immediately opened up to us and we found out that one of them had just lost a family member the night before. We were able to teach part of the plan of salvation and testify that God has a plan for her.

Then at the end of the night we had one pamphlet left to give out but it was already past time to go home so we could get there on time. So we were pulling away and we saw a man just sitting in his car. So we stopped the car and went talked to him. Turns out he has ran into 3 different sets of missionaries in the last 5 days. We talked about it wasn't a coincidence and God was aware of him and his needs and that's why he had sent so many missionaries to him this past week. He said he wants to come to church but needs put some things right in his life first. We are hoping to see him in these next couple weeks at church. I know the lord put us in the path of everyone that we talked to that night and I am so grateful for that!
