This week was awesome!
I said good bye to Hermana Wilson. That was sad and then I picked up my new
companion Hermana Walker! She is from Sandy Utah. (my first time ever with a
companion who's also from Utah!). She has been out about 4 months and just came
from Harlem (the upper part of Manhattan). She's an amazing missionary and such
a hard worker. She has already taught me a lot and I'm excited to keep learning
from her amazing example.
We also had an awesome
miracle. Last week we had a lesson with this couple we have been teaching and
we invited them to be baptized but they 100% declined. They felt that their
infant baptisms were valid and even after we had reviewed priesthood authority
and that Christ was baptized by immersion they still felt that their baptisms
were valid. The thought came to me to invite them to read Moroni 8. At first I
was a little reluctant because I know that that chapter can come off pretty
strong. Especially to those who believe their own infant baptism are valid. But
I followed the prompting and invited them to read it before we came back.
This week we came and
followed up on their reading. They had read it and it totally changed them and
their point of views! They had lots of questions but as we answered them they
understood more and more. We invited them to be baptized again and they
expressed a concern that it will be hard for them to change their ways but that
they are willing slowly work towards baptism as a goal. I know that the spirit
was touching their hearts and helping them understand true doctrine. I'm so
grateful that I can always have the spirit to be the third person in my
companionships because he is a much better teacher than I!
I love you all! Have a
great week!
Love,
Hermana Dobson
