Hola familia
I hope all had a
wonderful Thanksgiving and that you had lots of turkey .
This year makes two in
a row where I have not eaten turkey on Thanksgiving. Hispanics don't really
like turkey so they don't eat it. But regardless of
not having turkey it was still a really awesome thanksgiving. Our planned
dinner appointment ended up falling through at the last minute so we decided to
go Christmas caroling to the older women in the ward. It was so fun and they
were so grateful for the visits and songs. At almost every house we stopped at
we ended up getting more than we gave. Two cute old women gave us tons of food
to take home and one even pulled out leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner and had
us eat so we ended up getting Thanksgiving dinner anyways. It was such a fun
day. I definitely felt the hand of God blessing us and those we went to
visit.
Also a lot happened it
Liya this week. She was on baptismal date for this coming Saturday and we had
talked to her mom before and she was on board with it. But then this week she
changed her mind and said that she will still let Liya be baptized but not
until she's 17. Then she came to a baptism of a boy thats only a year older
than her and she felt the spirt and decided she still wants to be baptized and
that she would talk to her mom about it. But then she talked to her grandma and
she reminded her of all the things she learned in her Catholic communion
classes and that what we have taught her is totally against what she learned
there. So now she is very confused on what she feels and what is the truth. But
she wants to keep learning and asking and progressing towards baptism. Now
it'll be a longer road, but I know she will get there eventually.
We also had a super
cool miracle this week! On Tuesday we knocked into Oliver. He's kinda young
probably mid to late 20s but he is the most religious young person I've met
outside of the chruch in my entire mission. He was super open to listening to a
message. Unfortunately we didn't have an English book of Mormon with us at the
time but he told us we could come back on Sunday to give it to him. So we came
back on Sunday and we met his whole family and they are all exactly like him.
They had just gotten back from 3 hours of church but we so excited to let us in
and listen to two young girls give the word of God. And then we invited them to
church, they asked where it was and when we told them they were like "oh
our sister/aunt goes there" so they show us picture and turns out their
aunt is one of the most active members in our ward. God works in misterious
ways but I believe he has been preparing the Cabrera family for a very long
time.
I love you all! Have
an amazing week!
Love,
Hermana Dobson
Rikel, a 15 year old
kid that the elders have been teaching got baptized and basically all the youth
from the ward came to support him. Liya came too which was so awesome.

For Thanksgiving we
did a service project in the park. We panted over 1500 daffodil bulbs. It was
so incredibly cold but some of the youth came with us and made it super
fun.
